MoRAC Union Minister pays homage to Sayadaws of State Sangha Maha Nayaka Committee

Union Minister U Ko Ko is supplicating the religious matters to the State Sangha Maha Nayaka Committee members yesterday.

Union Minister for Religious Affairs and Culture U Ko Ko paid homage to State Sangha Maha Nayaka Committee Chairman Sayadaw Abhidhaja Maha Rattha Guru Abhidhaja Agga Maha Saddhamma Jotika Dr Bhaddanta Kumara Bhivamsa, Agga Maha Pandita Agga Maha Saddhamma Jotikadhaja Dr Candima Bhivamsa and the State Sangha Maha Nayaka Committee members Sayadaws at the Maha Nayaka Hall on Thiri Mingalar Kaba Aye Hill yesterday.
During his visit to Sayadaws, the Union Minister presented the successful holding of the 73rd Tipitakadhara Tipitakakovida (written) test, government Dhamma Cariya and Pali Pathama Pyan exam.
He said the State Administration Council would follow the advice of the Venerable Sayadaws and make efforts to propagate Sasana.
The Union Minister then discussed the Pariyatti-Paripatti Sasana and the importance of Pariyatti exams for the monks and people and successive holding of Pariyatti exams according to the words of former venerable Sayadaws.
The second session of the State Sangha Maha Nayaka Committee (first sub-committee) held on 28 April in which Chairman and Secretary Sayadaw of the committee allowed to hold the 73rd Tipitakadhara Tipitakakovida (written) test, 2021 government Dhamma Cariya and Pali Pathama Pyan tests and so the officials will make efforts to hold these exams successfully.
Moreover, the SAC conducted measures to reopen the pagodas across the nation starting 8 February.
The 60th Graduation Ceremony and 2021 religious titles conferring ceremony were held in accordance with the COVID-19 health rules. It also carried out the needed things to open day-long meditation centres during the Thingyan holidays. As the Sayadaws make efforts to protect the Sasana by learning the Pariyatti- Paripatti Buddhist literature, the government will keep providing the needed offertories in line with the words of Sayadaws.
The Union Minister and party then donated robes and K3.5 million to Sayadaws.
The Union Minister and party also inspected the renovation works on Maha Pasana Cave and preparations for 73rd Tipitakadhara Tipitakakovida (written) exam.
The Union Minister attended the meeting held by the Pagoda Board of Trustees of Shwedagon pagoda. During the meeting, the Union Minister instructed the need to conduct renovation works on guest pavilions and religious halls on the pagoda platform to follow the COVID-19 health rules of the Ministry of Health and Sports.
He then stressed the necessary things to the pagoda board of trustee to hold Cetiyangana Examination on the pagoda. — MNA
