MPyps+ Application for paying YBS bus fares via mobile phone QR code was launched on 8 January.

The launch ceremony was held at Yangon Region Public Transport Committee (YRTC).

MPyps+ Application, jointly developed by Asia Starmar Transport Intelligent Co. Ltd and Myanma Platform, can be downloaded from Playstore.

“We will carry out to enable its use on all YBS lines. We have two systems- flat pay and distance pay. QR code for distance pay will be developed later,” said U Kyaw Thein, Chief Operating Officer of ASTI.

It is the first app to use MMQR Code and recharge can be made at YPS kiosks, specified G&G Convenient Stores, Capital and Mingalar cinema.

Balance and past journeys can be viewed on MPyps+ application.

At present, QR Code bus fare payment is being initialized in Yangon’s metro areas and it is planned to expand its use to the outskirts.
