MRF warns again to register rice and paddy warehouses online

In order to stabilize domestic rice prices, to systematically export, to enable systematic storage and display by supermarkets, wholesalers and retailers, and to control price speculation, Myanmar Rice Federation (MRF) issued its notification again to register the storage of 50 tonnes of rice or 5,000 baskets of paddy and above on Myanmar Rice Online (MyRO) on 12 January.

The first notification was issued on 4 November 2023.

By 31 December 2023, 174 warehouses – 87, 52, 10, 4, 1, 19 and 1 in Yangon, Ayeyarwady, Bago, Mandalay, Sagaing regions, Nay Pyi Taw council territory and Rakhine state respectively- have been registered.

“You can go to MyRO Website and register. The software will automatically determine according to the size of warehouses. The maximum [fees] are K 150,000 for companies and K 80,000 for individuals. 174 warehouses have been registered until December. Now, the number could be around 200,” said a person close to MRF

As the Department of Consumer Affairs informed MRF by a letter dated 3 January 2024 to coordinate with its affiliated associations in regions/states/districts/townships for wholesalers, firms, individuals and supermarkets to register their warehouses with MyRO in time, MRF reissued its notification, it said.

Phone numbers 09-893095503, 09-9758642607 and email:myromyanmar.mm@gmail.com can be contacted for more information on registering with MyRO.
