Myanmar, China underscore commitment to fostering peace & stability in border region

Senior General Min Aung Hlaing and Mr Sun Weidong, Vice-Minister of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the People’s Republic of China, exchanged views on efforts to forge peace and stability in the border region between Myanmar and China.
Chairman of the State Administration Council Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing held talks with Mr Sun Weidong, Vice-Minister of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the People’s Republic of China, at the Tatmadaw Guesthouse in Nay Pyi Taw yesterday morning.
Both sides discussed the promotion of frank cooperation between the two countries based on the Pauk-Phaw relationship, plans to further promote cooperation between the two countries, and future programmes.
Also present at the meeting were SAC Joint Secretary Lt-Gen Ye Win Oo, Union Minister for Home Affairs Lt-Gen Yar Pyae, Union Minister for Foreign Affairs U Than Swe, and officials. The Chinese Vice-Minister of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs was accompanied by Ambassador of China to Myanmar Mr Chen Hai and Mr Deng Xijun, Special Envoy for Asian Affairs of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of China, and officials. — MNA/TTA
