Myanmar delegation attends 43rd ASEAN Senior Officials Meeting on Drug Matters (ASOD) and its related meetings

The 43rd ASEAN Senior Officials Meeting on Drug Matters was held in Kuala Lumpur from 31 October to 3 November.
A seven-member Myanmar delegation led by Police Brig-Gen Win Naing, Joint Secretary of the Central Committee on Drug Abuse Control and Commander of the Drug Enforcement Division attended the meeting. The representatives of ASEAN member countries, the Australian Embassy to Malaysia, China, Japan, and Russia, UN Office on Drugs and Crime also attended the meeting onsite or online.
Secretary general YBhg Dato’ Sri Wan Ahmad Dahlan bin Haji Abdul Aziz of the Ministry of Home Affairs of Malaysia and Director General of the National Anti-Drug Agency (NADA) Mr Sutekno AhMad Belon opened the meeting and discussed the control, suppression, education, medical treatment, alternative development and research and future plans.
Afterwards, Police Brig-Gen Win Naing, Joint Secretary of the Central Committee for Drug Abuse Control and Commander of the Drug Enforcement Division co-chaired the 7th ASEAN-China Dialogue Meeting with China.
In addition, those present at the meeting discussed the preparations of Myanmar to host the 44th ASEAN Senior Officials Meeting on Drug Matters in 2023. The Myanmar delegation returned to Myanmar by flight on the afternoon of 4 November. — MNA
