Myanmar delegation attends China-ASEAN Construction Ministers’ meeting

Union Construction Minister U Myo Thant attended the construction ministers’ meeting held in Nanning, Guangxi Zhaung Autonomous Region of the People’s Republic of China, on 15 and 16 September. On 17 September, he participated in the opening ceremony of the 20th China-ASEAN Expo, together with guests from China and ASEAN countries.
In the afternoon, the Union minister and party travelled from Nanning to Tengxian. They visited the construction site of the Tengzhou Xunjiang bridge, where a long-span cable-stayed and suspension system combination is currently being built as part of the Pingcen Expressway project. He engaged in discussions and enquired about the technical aspects of the project. The project leaders provided further explanations and took a group photo together.
The Union minister and party then proceeded to the construction site of the Tengzhou Tunnel, which is connected to the bridge project. Project engineers provided a briefing on the project details and offered a tour of the tunnel construction site.
The Myanmar delegation led by Union Minister U Myo Thant returned to Myanmar from Guangzhou, Guangdong Province of China, via China Southern Airlines. — MNA/KZW
