Under the leadership of the Ministry of Home Affairs of Vietnam as an alternative Chair of 2021-2022 for ASEAN Cooperation on Civil Service Matters-ACCSM, Preparatory Meeting and Senior Officials Meeting of the 21st ASEAN Cooperation on Civil Service Matters have been convened on 8 April 2021 and yesterday morning and afternoon through video conferencing.
On these occasions, Mr Nguyen Duy Thang, Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Home Affairs of Vietnam, delivered an opening speech and, Myanmar delegation led by U Aung Tin Soe, Director-General of the Civil Service Selection and Training Department of the Union Civil Service Board has also attended altogether with other senior officials from ASEAN Member Countries concerned with the ACCSM.
During these meetings, discussion on the Road Map and its processes within their terms of alternative Chairmanship for 21st ASEAN Cooperation on Civil Service Matters, making proposal for the ASEAN Declaration on Fostering the Civil Service’s Adaptability over the New Challenges, ASEAN Secretariat discussion on ACCSM and ACCSM+3 Work Plan (2021-2025), the report of the Study on Civil Service Modernization in ASEAN, the Draft Framework of ACCSM Strategic Partnerships, the status of the cooperation with dialogue partners in the area of ACCSM, the recommendations and decisions over the meetings related to the ACCSM under the ASEAN meetings, exchanging views on the status of the undertakings of the ASEAN Resource Centre-ARC, collaborative processes under the ASEAN Network of Public Service Training Institutes (PSTI), Presentation on overcoming and resilient situations against the COVID-19 pandemic among ASEAN countries, Myanmar delegation also shared the status on the cooperation and collaboration with local and international organizations during the COVID-19 pandemic, joining the capacity development programmes for civil service personnel and trainers, conducting online training courses for civil service personnel at the Central Institutes of Civil Service and their future plans, challenges and opportunities encountering within the COVID-19.—MNA
