Myanmar face big loss to Qatar in Asian Cup U-23 Qualifiers

Myanmar team suffered a 0-6 defeat to Qatar in the Asian Cup U-23 Qualifiers played at Changwon Football Centre Stadium in Thailand yesterday.
Although the Qatar team is in the Group B qualifiers, it has been announced to host the final tournament, and it has passed the qualification and the team’s results will not be included in the qualifying group standings.
Therefore, the Myanmar squad made changes to the starting lineup and started with some reserve players. Team Myanmar conceded only one goal in the first half but lost five more goals in the second half. In the first match, the Qatar team defeated the South Korean team 2-0. In the previous match, the South Koreans also beat Kyrgyzstan 1-0.
The results of the meeting with the Qatar team are not taken into account in the group standings, so South Korea has three points from one game. Myanmar has one point from one game and Kyrgyzstan has one point from two games. The Myanmar team will play against the South Korean team on 12 September as a final group game. — Ko Nyi Lay/KZL
