Myanmar-India Foreign Office Consultations held in India

A Myanmar delegation led by U Lwin Oo, Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, arrived back in Yangon on 7 December 2023 after attending the 20th round of Myanmar-India Foreign Office Consultations (FOC) in New Delhi, India, from 4 to 6 December 2023.
Deputy Minister U Lwin Oo and Mr Vinay Mohan Kwatra, Foreign Secretary of the Ministry of External Affairs of India, co-chaired the Foreign Office Consultations Meeting held on 6 December 2023 at the Hyderabad House in New Delhi.
Both sides cordially discussed a wide range of bilateral issues on the enhancement of bilateral relations and cooperation, boundary matters and border cooperation, security and defence cooperation, development of ongoing projects of India in Myanmar, trade and commerce cooperation, consular and cultural cooperation, capacity building in various sectors and potential areas of future collaboration between the two countries.
The FOC meeting was also attended by U Moe Kyaw Aung, Myanmar Ambassador to India, Mr Vinay Kumar, Ambassador of India to Myanmar and responsible officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Myanmar, the Myanmar Embassy in New Delhi and the Ministry of External Affairs of India.
Later, the deputy minister called on Dr S Jaishankar, External Affairs Minister of the Republic of India, at the Ministry of External Affairs of India. They cordially exchanged views on the promotion of long-standing friendly bilateral relations between Myanmar and India, collaboration for the maintenance of peace and stability, development of the border areas between the two countries, and expansion of mutually beneficial cooperation, including connectivity. — MNA
