Myanmar joins SCO’s Forum on traditional medicine

The Ministry of AYUSH and the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare of India presided over the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Forum on traditional medicine virtually yesterday, and Director-General Dr Su Su Dwe of the Traditional Medicine Department of the Ministry of Health joined the forum.
Remarks at the forum were delivered by officials of traditional medicine fields in India and China. Then, experts of SCO member states – India, China, Russia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Pakistan and Uzbekistan discussed the development of traditional medicines, traditional medicine courses and research, cooperation, production of traditional medicines, challenges and matters to work together with member countries, observers and partner countries.
It was attended by experts of SCO member states, dialogue partners, Dr Su Su Dwe, Director-General of the Traditional Medicine Department of the Ministry of Health, Pro Dr Thein Zaw Lin, Rector of the University of Traditional Medicine (Mandalay) and relevant officials. —MNA/KTZH
