Myanmar launches experimental animal units

The experimental animal units funded by the Lancang-Mekong Cooperation (LMC) special fund 2021 were inaugurated in Insein Township of Yangon Region on 3 March.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Deputy Minister for Agriculture, Livestock and Irrigation Dr Aung Gyi said the systematic livestock can meet the local meat consumption, and the research and technologies related to livestock breeding should be promoted to improve the socioeconomic status of breeders and rural people in addition to encourage the export sector.
Moreover, researchers, experts, and relevant officials should cooperate to conduct awareness campaigns for the livestock and breeding industry.
Then, the deputy director-general of the Livestock, Breeding and Veterinary Department clarified the project.
The deputy minister inspected the breeding of test animals and vaccine production processes. — MNA/KTZH
