Myanmar Music Association holds 13th respect-paying ceremony

The Myanmar Music Association (Central) held the 13th ceremony to pay respect to veteran musicians on 30 December at Sky Star Hotel in Tamway Township in Yangon, with attendance of Yangon Region Chief Minister U Soe Thein.
Deputy Minister for Information U Ye Tint and Yangon Region government ministers, Chairman of Myanmar Motion Pictures Organization U Kyi Soe Tun, Chairman of Myanmar Music Association (Central) U Lwin Myint, Joint Secretary-2 of Myanmar Music Association (Central) U Thiri Maung Maung and veteran musicians were present at the ceremony.
On the occasion, the chairman of Myanmar Music Association accepted K10 million donated by the Chairman of the State Administration Council and donated cash presented by the Yangon Region Government and K3 million by the Ministry of Information by the deputy minister.
Then, well-wishers donated cash to the association through Myanmar Music Association (Central) Joint Secretary-1 U Myat Min and Joint Secretary-2 Danyawady U Kyaw Win.
Attendees led by executive Tekkatho Lei Lei, including the region chief minister and the deputy minister, paid respect to the veteran musicians.
At the 13th Ceremony, veteran musicians above 80 years were presented K250,000 each and those under 80 K200,000 each. The ceremony was attended by 160 veteran musicians. — San Kyaw Oo/TKO
