Myanmar participates in 10th World Water Forum in Indonesia

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs reported that Minister Counsellor Dr Aung Thu Soe of the Myanmar Embassy in Jakarta participated in the opening ceremony of the 10th World Water Forum and the ministerial meeting held in Bali, Indonesia, on 20-21 May.
The forum took place at the International Convention Centre in Bali, Indonesia, and was inaugurated by Indonesian President Joko Widodo. Among the attendees were Sri Lankan President Ranil Wickremesinghe, Fiji President Ratu Wiliame Maivalili Katonivere, Tajikistan Prime Minister Qohir Rasulzoda, Malaysian Deputy Prime Minister Dato Sri Haji Fadillah Bin Haji Yusof, Papua New Guinea Deputy Prime Minister John Rosso, as well as World Water Council President Loic Faucho and United Nations General Assembly President Dennis Francis.
Apart from the ministerial meeting, the 10th World Water Forum featured a high-level meeting and a series of discussions led by experts in relevant fields. Government representatives from various countries, representatives from various private sectors, and individuals with a keen interest in water issues participated in the event. — ASH/TMT
