Myanmar Rowing Team wins five silver medals in 14th Asian Dragon Boat Championship

Myanmar team competes against the Indonesian team during the doubles’ 12-oar 1,000-m boat race.

The finals of the 14th Asian Dragon Boat Championship were held in Pattaya of Thailand on 19 and 20 November, and the Myanmar rowing team won five silver medals.
In the men’s 22-oar men’s 1,000-m event, China team won gold, Myanmar team silver and Thailand team bronze medal respectively.
In the 22-oar doubles’ 1,000-m event, Indonesia won gold medal, Myanmar team silver medal and Thailand team bronze medal respectively.
In the 12-oar women’s 1,000-m event, China team secured gold medal, Myanmar team silver medal and Thailand team bronze medal respectively.
In the 12-oar doubles’ 1,000-m event, Indonesia team won gold, Myanmar team silver and Thai team bronze medal respectively. In the doubles’ 12-oar 500-m event, Indonesia team bagged gold medal, Myanmar team silver medal and Hong Kong team bronze medal respectively.
The Myanmar team competed in 15 different competitions and won five medals.
The host Thailand team, Australian team, Cambodian team, Taipei team, Hong Kong team, Chinese team, Indian team, Indonesian team, Malaysian team, Myanmar team, the Nepalese team, and the Singaporean team competed against each other in the Championship.
The Myanmar team will continue to compete in the Thailand Traditional Boat and International Swan Boat Race 2022, which will be held from 22 to 26 November.—Bala Soe/GNLM
