Myanmar Sepak Takraw team win gold medal in Asian Games

Myanmar Sepak Takraw team grabbed the first gold medal for the country at the XIX Asian Games at Jinhau Sports Centre in China yesterday.
Team Myanmar competed in the men’s team event and beat Indonesia 2-0 in the final game.
The State awarded US$1,000 to the victorious team.
In the Dragon Boat race event, Myanmar men’s team secured fourth place while China grabbed gold, Thailand silver and Indonesia bronze.
Similarly, Myanmar women’s team garnered fourth place and China picked the gold while Indonesia grabbed the silver and Thailand the bronze.
In the Men’s Regu Sepak Takraw competition, Myanmar will tackle the Philippines in the morning and Thailand in the afternoon. Likewise, the Women’s Regu Sepak Takraw team is facing South Korea and Myanmar men’s and women’s Dragon Boat teams will compete in 500-metre events. — MNA/KZL
