Myanmar team placed in Group G of AFC U-20 Women’s Asian Cup Qualifiers

A drawing-lot event for the AFC U-20 Women’s Asian Cup Qualifiers Round 1 to be held in March 2023 was held yesterday at the Asian Football Confederation Headquarters in Malaysia.
Team Myanmar is placed in Group G together with host country Cambodia, Malaysia, and Pakistan.
The tournament is scheduled to be held from 4 to 12 March with 31 teams from the Asian region under the age of 20 participating in eight groups.
The best four of the eight teams that entered the second stage will be allowed to participate in the final stage.
North Korea, including the Japanese team that won the last 2019 tournament, South Korea and the 2024 AFC Women’s-U20 Championship, the final host country of Uzbekistan, will be allowed to compete directly without qualifying.
The Myanmar national women’s U-19 team won the first and second qualifiers in the 2019 competition and had the opportunity to compete in the final tournament. — GNLM
