Myanmar team prepares for Asian Cup U-20 women’s qualifiers

The Myanmar U-20 Women’s National Team is preparing for the 2024 Asian Cup U-20 Women’s Qualifiers, according to the Myanmar Football Federation.
The Myanmar team has been practising since the last week of December and is handled by Daw San San Thein as the head coach. The Myanmar U-20 women’s team was initially formed with 38 players but is currently training with a total of 32 players.
The Myanmar U-20 women’s team will compete in the first-round group matches of the Asian Cup U-20 women’s qualifiers in March. The team is falling in the same group as Cambodia, Pakistan, and Malaysian teams.
The team is supervised by Head Coach Daw San San Thein, Assistant Coaches Daw Nwe Nwe Toe, Daw San Yu Naing, and Goal Coach Daw May Khin Yamin.
Goalies May Oo Khin, Zee Bay, Lucier, Thu Zar Aung, Thet Htar Aung, defenders Phyu Phway, Yu Yu Naing, Phyar Mya Moe Moe Aye, New Moe, Khin Htay Khaing, Moe Pyae Pyae Maung, December Nhin, Khin Moe Win, Ei Zin Moe, Yamin Sandar Aung, May Tharaphi Kyaw, Kyal Sin, Phyu Phyu Win, Wai Phyue Eain, Daisy Aung, Nang Cho Mway, Thazin Moe, Nhin Phwint Aye, Hay Mhan Soe, Di Nhin Yar, Kazar Rosy, Kay Thwe Phyoe, Theingi Htwe, Wai Hin Phyoe, Sandar Lin, Mya Nhin Wai, May Thet Mon Myint, strikers Zin Moe Pyae, Yu Ya Naing, Su Myat Noe, Yin Loon Eain, Yoon Waddy Hlaing and Zam Kham Hom have been selected for the team.
The current players are players from last year’s women’s league competition clubs, and U-19 and U-16 national teams. In addition to the players from the Sports and Physical Education Institute, the players who showed their skills from the regional and state competitions held in Nay Pyi Taw were also selected.
The Asian Cup U-20 Women’s Qualifiers will be held in eight groups, and only the top teams from each group will be allowed to compete in the second-round qualifiers. The Myanmar team will continue to compete in other international competitions after the Asian Cup first-round qualifiers. — Ko Nyi Lay/KZL
