Myanmar wins one gold, four bronzes in 6th Eastern Asia (ASEAN) Youth Chess Championship

The 6th Eastern Asia (ASEAN) Youth Chess Championship is being held in Bangkok, Thailand from 4 to 13 November.
It is reported that Myanmar athletes have won one gold medal and four bronzes medals after the games ended on 12 November.
In the final games of U-16 Standard Individual, a player from Chinese Taipei won the gold medal while Indonesia grabbed the silver medal and Myanmar won the bronze.
In the final matches of U-18 Standard Group, Viet Nam won the gold medal, Thailand earned the silver medal and Myanmar achieved the bronze medal.
Myanmar’s Kyaw Myat Aung won the U-18 Rapid Individual contest, while Sai Han Thiha, Kyaw Myat Aung and Paing Zeyya respectively won the U-18 Rapid Group contest and U-18 Blitz Contest.
Six Myanmar chess players competed in the U-16 Standard Game, U-18 Standard Game, U-18 Rapid Game, and U-18 Blitz Game.
Players from 10 ASEAN countries and Korea, Taipei, Hong Kong and Mongolia participated in the competition. — Bala Soe/GNLM
