Myanmar wins two gold medals in 7th World Vovinam Championships

Myanmar won two gold medals, three silvers, and nine bronzes at the 7th World Vovinam Championships held in Viet Nam from 25 to 30 November.
Hnin Thet Wai won one gold medal in the 49-51 kilogrammes Women’s Individual Attacking event. At the same time, a pair of Aung Khaing Lin and Hein Htet Aung secured another gold medal in the Men’s Pair Machete Form event and Tin Htoo Zaw garnered the Men’s Long Stick Individual event. Similarly, Myanmar won one silver in the Women’s Individual Performance event, another silver at the Women’s Group of Six event, one bronze in the Men’s Group of Four Performance event, another bronze in the Men’s Double Performance event, one more bronze in the Women’s Individual Performance event, further bronze in Women’s Triple event, one more bronze at men’s Group of Four Sword Performance event, and one bronze medal each in Men’s Individual Sword Performance event, men’s 51-54 kg Attacking event, Men’s Double Sword Performance event and Mixed Performance event.
A total of 35 countries, including ASEAN countries, competed in the tournament. Team Myanmar is returning to Yangon on 2 December with a sweet victory. — Bala Soe/KZL
