Myanmar’s chargé d’affaires attends ASEAN meeting with US Defence Official in Washington

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs reported that U Thet Win, Myanmar’s chargé d’affaires ad interim in Washington, attended a meeting between Ms Lindsey W Ford, Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defence for South and Southeast Asia, and the ASEAN Committee in Washington (ACW).
The meeting took place on 5 May and was led by the Malaysian Embassy as part of the ACW’s initiatives. ASEAN senior officers, representatives, and personnel also attended.
Mr Dato’ Nazri Aziz, Malaysian Ambassador to the United States, delivered an opening speech. Ms Lindsey W Ford discussed her upcoming working visit to Singapore for the Shangri-La Dialogue and potential developments in the Indo-Pacific region. — ASH/TMT
