Myanmar’s registered private industries exceed 46,000 mark

According to the Ministry of Industry, there are 46,003 registered private industries in the country.
As of the August 2023 financial year, there were up to 46,003 private industries, compared to only 43,211 private industries that were officially registered and operating in the financial year 2011–2012. Therefore, 2,792 registered private industries increased within the 12 financial years, according to the statistics of the ministry.
The lists of official business registration by states and regions indicated that there are 2,037 private industries in Kachin State, 270 in Kayah State, 1,209 in Kayin State, 730 in Chin State, 4,833 in Sagaing Region, 1,988 in Taninthayi Region, 3,762 in Bago Region, 2,958 in Magway Region, 6,398 in Mandalay Region, 2,445 in Mon State, 1,283 in Rakhine State, 7,470 in Yangon Region, 4,580 in Shan State, 5,365 in Ayeyawady Region, and 675 in Nay Pyi Taw Union Territory.
Yangon Region boasts the highest number of officially registered private industries, followed by Mandalay Region and Ayeyawady Region as the second and third largest, respectively. — TWA/CT
