An oxygen plant with the capacity to generate about ten 40-litre oxygen containers per hour has arrived in Myeik. And it is almost ready for operation within three days.
The plant that can produce about ten 40-litre oxygen cylinders per hour arrived at the Myeik general hospital on 25 August. The NZO-60 NM machines started to be installed, and the plant will be in full function within three days to fulfil oxygen requirements in Myeik township.
“The plant will generate ten 40-litre oxygen cylinders per hour. The oxygen cylinders will be given priority to patients who are under treatment at the hospital. The building for the oxygen plant is completed. We can run the oxygen plant by the end of this month,” said an official.
Oxygen is the key to saving lives. Some people have died because they were struggling to breathe as no oxygen was available, he added.
People in Myeik township need oxygen due to the COVID-19 outbreak. Now, the plant is completed. It can produce oxygen cylinders to meet their daily oxygen needs. Besides, another oxygen plant is being constructed in Botechaung village in the township and will be completed next month. — Aye Maung/GNLM
