Naga traditional New Year Festival to be celebrated on 15 Jan

According to U Nay Min Thu, the committee secretary overseeing the Naga traditional New Year Festival, this year’s celebration is scheduled for 15 January 2024 in Nanyun, located in the Naga Self-administered Zone of Sagaing Region.
The Naga traditional New Year Festival rotates between Leshi, Lahe, and Nanyun. After being hosted in Leshi last year, the upcoming festival is set to take place in Nanyun, as announced by U Nay Min Thu.
The primary objective of the New Year festival celebration is to foster stronger bonds of friendship and goodwill among the Naga community, emphasized U Nay Min Thu. The Naga New Year Festival was scaled down in 2020 and 2021 due to the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic. — ASH/TRKM
