National Committee on Child Labour Evation marks 4th coord meeting

The fourth coordination meeting with a group of sectaries for the National Committee on the Elimination of Child Labour was convened on 13 January at the meeting hall of the Ministry of Labour in Nay Pyi Taw.
At the coordination meeting, U Win Shein, Deputy Minister for Labour, gave a remark regarding the national-level 15-year action plan (2019-2033) to prevent and eliminate child labour and implementation of the six objectives in the first five years of the projects.
A group of secretaries for the National Committee on the Elimination of Child Labour led by the deputy minister was formed on 31 May 2021, constituting 8 members.
The deputy minister urged the secretaries to make concerted efforts with each working committee to accomplish the objectives and to report the implementation process to the committee so as to review and instruct where necessary.
He requested the secretaries to coordinate matters concerning budget estimates, financial plans for short-term projects and annual financial statements.
Also, he highlighted to prevent and eliminate as per the objectives of the project as they become victims of abuse, extortion or worse, to ensure legal protection for child labour, to prohibit child workers from being employed in any hazardous industry and to manage them to join vocational schools to pursue proper jobs.
Afterwards, the attendees elaborated implementation process and the secretaries comprehensively discussed them. — MNA
