Nay Pyi Taw hosts MSME products exhibition for 76th Independence Day

The opening ceremony of the exhibition that showcases the products manufactured by local micro, small, and medium enterprises, especially from Nay Pyi Taw, was held yesterday morning in Pyinmana Township, Nay Pyi Taw, Union Territory, according to the Myanmar News Agency.
The report states that the event will last for seven days, commencing on 23 December and continuing to 29 December.
In honour of the upcoming 76th Independence Day of Myanmar, the one-week event involves 38 booths that mainly display local products.
The exhibition reportedly aims to promote trade, investment, and manufacturing of the local MSMEs in the Union Territory, to strengthen economic development, to increase coordination among the entrepreneurs that participate in the exhibition, to improve the products’ qualities, to exchange views on creations and innovations, to notice, recognize and understand the requirements that are emerged along the logistic chain from manufacturing to trading in deep down, and to produce solutions for the uprising requirements. It also aims to improve collaboration between the government, private sectors, and MSMEs to ensure successful international market penetration through regional trade promotion.
Nay Pyi Taw Council Chair Mayor U Than Tun Oo, members of the Nay Pyi Taw Council, Vice-Mayor of the Nay Pyi Taw City Development Committee, permanent secretaries, chiefs of departments, departmental personnel from district and township level offices, personnel from district and township level administrative bodies, President of the Nay Pyi Taw MSME Association and members, MSME entrepreneurs, businesspersons, city elders, and guests were presence at the opening ceremony yesterday.
Mayor U Than Tun Oo said the exhibition will also involve competition for relevant product categories such as food, personal accessory items, and handicrafts. Prizes will also be awarded.
He also urged collaboration in promoting regional farming businesses, producing value-added products, promoting import substitute businesses, and entrepreneurship.
Nay Pyi Taw Council Chair Mayor U Than Tun Oo and guests also observed the displays at the event. Dancing entertainment by the students from No 1 Basic Education High School and No 20 Basic Education High School and music performances were also involved during the opening ceremony. — MNA/TMT
