Nay Pyi Taw pagodas alive with visitors on fullmoon of Tazaungmon

Tazaungmon is the eighth month of the Myanmar calendar and the Buddha delivered Samaññaphala Sutta to King Ajatasatta and his royal congregation on the fullmoon of Tazaungmon.
On that day, the Buddhists keep the Sabbath, recite Pathana and Paritta and donate Kathina robes to the monasteries.
Nay Pyi Taw Bodhgaya Pagoda, Maha Thakya Yanthi Standing Buddha Image, Yanaungmyin Shwelathla Pagoda, Yanaung Chantha Pagoda, Datusaya Datpaungsu Pagoda, Eternal Peace Pagoda, Hlaykhwin Taung Pagoda, Koenawin Pagoda, Sutaungpyae Lawka Marazein Pagoda, Thanthaya Nyeinaye Pagoda, Phaya Koesu, Koekhangyi Pagoda, Lawka Yanhnein Pagoda, Phaungtaw Chatma Pagoda, Latlote Taung Pagoda and other pagodas in Nay Pyi Taw area were crowded with members of the religious organizations, residents, government employees and other visitors from different regions yesterday.
The 13th Tazaungdine Golden Lotus Robe donation ceremony was also organized at Nay Pyi Taw Uppatasanti Pagoda yesterday.
The ceremony was attended by Nay Pyi Taw Council Chairman Dr Maung Maung Naing, Nay Pyi Taw Command Commander Maj-Gen Zaw Hein, Deputy Minister for Religious Affairs and Culture U Aye Tun, Deputy Minister for Construction U Min Htein and officials among others. During the ceremony, officials donated the golden lotus robe to the Buddha image and other offertories.
Then, they took Nine Precepts and listened to the sermons delivered by Ovadacariya Sayadaw of Uppatasanti Pagoda Board of Trustees Presiding Nayaka of Paukmyaing Monastery in Lewe Township of Nay Pyi Taw Abhidhaja Maha Rattha Guru Bhaddanta Janinda.
Afterwards, officials donated offertories to the monks and shared good deeds.
Moreover, Yadana White Elephant Camp, religious supply stores and souvenir shops in the precinct of Uppatasanti Pagoda also hosted a crowd of visitors.
Similarly, the townships, wards and roads were also filled with vehicles and motorcycles, while the locals were conducting the Kathina festival and Nirvana markets festival. Moreover, the Ocean Super Centre, Junction Centre and Nay Pyi Taw Wholesale Centre were also crowded with people.
In the evening, people offered 9,000 oil lights to Uppatasanti Pagoda and the people donated Cassia flower bud salad.
The health officials and Myanmar Red Cross Society members distributed masks to the pilgrims on the fullmoon of Tazaungmon and the security force conducted patrol for the security of the public.—Hein Jaing/ GNLM
