The branches of container trucking associations will be established to facilitate the goods transportation processes at border areas, said U Soe Naing, Chairman of the Myanmar Container Trucking Association, at the 10th Annual General Meeting of the association held on 16 December at the UMFCCI.
“The association has facilitated members’ truck rental services and work processes despite increasing prices of spare parts, maintenance costs and fuel prices. Moreover, it conducts awareness campaigns for drivers to ensure systematic driving skills and provides life insurance for 1,000 drivers. The association arranged safe car parking stands and supervised not to transport illegal goods. Similarly, it welcomes the new members and arranges to establish branches of container trucking associations to facilitate goods transportation at border areas,” he added.
The association plays a crucial role in production, trading, distribution, service, imports, and manufacturing sectors and the flawless flow of trade and goods.
It was established in 2009 and runs with over 2,000 trucks. — TWA/KTZH
