Notice for the Implementation of MACCS for Cargo Clearance Processes at Tachilek Border on 22 March 2024

1. The Customs Department will extend the Myanmar Automated Cargo Clearance System (MACCS) to the Tachilek border area on 22 March 2024. This system is currently operational in Yangon, Myawady border, Muse border, and Chinshwehaw border areas.
2. To ensure the successful implementation of the system, the department has arranged negotiation meetings with trade bodies, provided comprehensive training to MACCS users encompassing both theoretical knowledge and practical skills, and conducted running tests in collaboration with customs staff, trade bodies, the Tachilek Border Chamber of Commerce, export/import companies located in Tachilek, and the Myanmar Customs Brokers Association.
3. Anyone engaged in export/import business and customs service along the Tachilek border area and related trading routes can apply the MACCS for Customs clearance starting from 22 March 2024.
