U Soe Win, Assistant Director of the Directorate of Hotels and Tourism (Ayeyawady Region), reported that Ohnmadanti Beach in Maubin District of Ayeyawady Region attracted a total of 26,775 domestic travellers in April.
The majority of day-trippers to Omadanti Beach are from the Yangon Region.
“Ohnmadanti Beach, situated near Danuphyu and relatively less known, has been drawing the highest number of day-trippers from Yangon Region. Technically, it’s not a beach but a sandbank in the Ayeyawady River. During the Thingyan period, it welcomed 21,155 domestic travellers. In March, a total of 16,775 domestic visitors were recorded. The number of visitors to the beach is steadily increasing each month,” explained U Soe Win.
