Chairman of the Rakhine State Basic Foodstuff Price Supervisory Committee State Economic Affairs Minister U San Shwe Maung made an on-site inspection yesterday morning at construction material stores in Sittway to check whether materials are sold at reasonable prices.
The inspection team met the owners of the stores to verify the prices of materials and viewed the statistics of sold items after the inspection. They also made the owners sign a pledge not to increase the prices of the goods during times of difficulties due to the storm.
Afterwards, the minister and party met merchants and entrepreneurs in Sittway to discuss the expansion of the Rakhine State Basic Foodstuff Price Supervisory Committee, speeding up the flow of goods, and setting reasonable prices for basic foodstuffs. — Tin Tun (IPRD)/CT
