Over 260 workers sent to ROK through EPS

A total of 267 Myanmar workers were despatched to the Republic of Korea on 27 February under the Employment Permit System (EPS), as reported by the overseas employment agency POEA.
The labour attaché of the Myanmar Embassy in Seoul welcomed them at the airport, providing necessary assistance.
The Department of Labour reported that a total of 10,611 Myanmar workers were dispatched to South Korea under the EPS system in 2023.
EPS workers are being despatched to South Korea via the Public Overseas Employment Agency (POEA) for the manufacturing, construction, farming, and agricultural industries. A total of 11,000 workers from Myanmar are reportedly set to go this year.
Currently, over 70,000 Myanmar workers are working under the EPS system in the Republic of Korea. — TWA/MKKS
