Over K18.8 billion worth of stimulant tablets captured in Patheingyi township

A total of over K300 million worth of stimulant tablets were seized in Patheingyi township, as reported by the Myanmar Police Force.
Acting on a tip-off, a combined team consisting of members from the Anti-Drug Police Force searched a 22-wheel truck with a trailer, travelling from Hsipaw to Mandalay. The truck was driven by Sai Htin Lin, accompanied by Htein Win. The search took place near the Htonebo tollgate on the Htonebo-Myitnge road in Patheingyi township at 8 am on 21 September.
Police confiscated over K18.8 billion worth of 12.55 million stimulant tablets and arrested a drug trafficker by the name of Gawli, also known as Kyaw Gyi or Kyaw Sein Myint. Gawli had instructed Sai Htin Lin and Htein Win to transport the drugs from Shan State to Mandalay.
Legal action has been taken against the offenders, and an investigation is underway to identify others involved in the criminal chain. — MNA/MKKS
