Over K477 bln lent to SMEs till October 2023

Myanmar’s traditional children’s toys business is a small type of business.

According to the SME two-tier loan project, more than K477 billion have been lent to SMEs up to the end of October 2023, the Deputy Minister for Planning and Finance said at the SME two-tier loan project meeting on 14 November.
In Phase I of the two-stage SME loan project, more than K138 billion was lent to 604 entrepreneurs up to the end of October this year. For the second phase of the project, more than K339 billion were lent to 1,773 entrepreneurs up to the end of October this year, he added.
In doing so, the loan was made through six PFI banks that are financial partners. Officials will continue to provide loans to MSME businesses that can manufacture products necessary for the State. — TWA/KZL
