Palm oil distributed at fairer prices

The Ministry of Commerce and the Myanmar Edible Oil Dealers’ Association imported the palm oil at the CBM reference rate using $12 million and sold at K4,240 per viss in regions/states beginning 9 November.
A total of 7,070.55 tonnes (4,327,180 visses) of palm oil has been sold in Yangon, Mandalay, Sagaing, Bago, Magway and Taninthayi regions, Shan and Mon states, and Nay Pyi Taw.
Moreover, the association will also arrange palm oil trucks in the wards of the regions and states.
The palm oil wholesalers will have to resell the oil not more than two per cent of net profit at retail outlets and the wholesalers/retailers can contact the Myanmar Edible Oil Dealers’ Association at 09-444437295, 09-401527049 and the Department of Consumer Affairs, Yangon Region at 01-250270, 09-43666668 to buy the palm oil. – MNA
