Patients get free cleft lip and palate surgeries in Nay Pyi Taw

One of the cleff lip and palate surgeries is underway.

Japanese Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon Dr Naoko Kishi of Japan Heart and 14 medics led by Dental Specialist Dr Khin Maung of the Ministry of Health conducted free surgery for four patients with cleft lips and cleft palates for the first time at the Dental Hospital in Pobbathiri Township in Nay Pyi Taw between 26 and 27 October.
The Japan Heart signed an MoU with the Medical Services Department of the Ministry of Health and launched cooperation work in the medical sector in 2004 and the Japanese Oral and Maxillofacial Specialists led by Prof Dr Mikihik Kogo and Myanmar dentists provided free surgeries for about 300 patients with cleft lips and cleft palates from 2019 to date.
The surgeons will continue free surgical care at the Dental Hospital in Pobbathiri Township of Nay Pyi Taw every Wednesday so that patients with cleft lips and cleft palates across the nation can come to the hospital for free treatment. – MNA
