Families of martyr leaders lay wreaths at mausoleum in memory of martyr leaders

The 76th Anniversary of Martyrs’ Day was marked at the Martyrs’ Mausoleum in Bahan Township of Yangon Region yesterday morning, and U Aung San Oo, the elder son of martyr national leader General Aung San, and families of other martyr leaders as well as representatives laid wreaths at the mausoleum to pay their tributes to those leaders and dispersed Metta.
Similarly, SAC Member Deputy Prime Minister Union Minister Admiral Tin Aung San, SAC members Mahn Nyein Maung and Dr Hmu Thang, Union-level officials and attendees laid the wreath of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar at the Martyrs’ Mausoleum to pay their tributes.
Just then, the flag of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar was lowered to half-mast and the Guard of Honour and the bugle troops observed a two-minute silence.
On the occasion, the Yangon Region government, representatives of political parties, heads and charges d’affaires ai of foreign embassies to Myanmar also laid wreaths at the mausoleum for paying their tributes.
As part of paying their tributes to martyr leader General Aung San and other martyr leaders, various associations and organizations laid wreaths at the mausoleum.
People from all walks of life and members of the Sangha paid tributes to those leaders in a queue under the health guidelines issued by the Ministry of Health.
People from the whole country hoisted the Union flag at half-mast, and MRTV sounded a siren in memory of the martyrs at 10:37 am.
Many people visited the Martyrs’ Mausoleum, the Bogyoke Museum and the Secretariat (former Ministers’ Office) yesterday. — MNA/TTA
