The 102nd National Victory Day which falls on the 10th Waning of Tazaungmone 1384 Myanmar era is very significant for the Republic of the Union of Myanmar as the entire Myanmar national people under the colonial rule unitedly opposing the colonial education of the British colonialists with the united patriotic spirit.
The colonialists suppressed culture, language, faith and education through various ways and means so as to ensure the long-term suffering of Myanmar under colonial rule. It was triggered by the enactment of the Yangon University Act which restricted the majority of Myanmar people not to pursue a university education.
Myanmar ethnic people from all corners fought against the colonialists with a patriotic spirit and unity for escaping from the colonial rule so as to put their endeavours on record in history. The General Council of Burmese Association-GCBA Special Conference in Yangon on 17 and 18 June 1922 designated the 10th Waning of Tazaungmone, 1282 ME as the National Day.
Currently, the government is striving to ensure a strong and dynamic Union spirit which is the genuine national spirit, to respect and promote the customs and traditions of all National peoples and preserve and safeguard their cultural heritage and national characteristics, and to enhance the health, fitness and education quality of the entire nation.
The entire national people are organized to participate in strengthening the national solidarity based on the national spirit and in building the Union based on democracy and federalism through the united strength of the ethnic national people. It is necessary to build a peaceful, tranquil, multiple-developed nation through the united strength of all ethnic national people of the Union based on the essence of unity.
Education and knowledge are crucial for the State and the people. As education is the foundation for the development of the State, the cooperation of the people and teachers plays a key role in staging the free education campaign for enabling all school-age youths to have the learning opportunity and to complete at least KG+9 education.

Only when the scope of the people can be widened will they have greater rationality to be able to analyze the right and wrong things in national-building endeavours. If so, they will have the high capacity to uplift the education standard of the people. That is why all citizens have to follow the motto of the 102nd National Victory Day “Let’s unite all ethnic nationals for multiple developments of the nation” so as to preserve characters of the National Day for posterity.
