Private banks notified of Thai Baht currency account

Some private banks notified those businesses executing Myanmar-Thailand border trade that Thai Baht currency account can be opened, following the reopening of the Myawady-Maesot Friendship Bridge I on 12 January 2023.
CB Bank, AYA Bank, Yoma Bank, UAB Bank and MAB Bank released notifications on their respective social media pages.
For foreign currency accounts (Thai Baht), CB Bank and AYA Bank are making a partnership with the Bangkok Bank Public Co Ltd (Yangon branch). Meanwhile, Yoma Bank and MAB Bank are joining hands with Siam Commercial Bank Myanmar Limited, while the UAB Bank is connected to Krung Thai Bank Public Company Limited.
Inward remittance in Thai Baht can be done. They can be directly deposited to Myanmar currency accounts as well.
This account can be opened at the designated bank branches in Tachilek, Myawady, Myeik, Kawthoung, Yangon, Mandalay and Nay Pyi Taw. The exchange rate is set depending on the daily market rate. – TWA/EMM
