The trading for religious goods locally known as religious goods continues as usual with regular trade, according to the religious goods sellers.
“The sale of religious goods for donations never stops. Religion plays a significant role. Buddha images are religious goods for obeisance of the people. There are many other related items. All of them are being sold well according to their own market demand,” said the owner of Maha Sakkya Theikdi Religious Goods Shop.
Religious goods with regular sales and endless demand include trading of Buddha images, Buddha statues, images of Sayadaws, cups kept in front of the Buddha images and oil lamps.
“We sell Buddha images and strings of beads. Demand is good and normal. This is not a seasonal market. So, it is business as usual. Sometimes, we are out of stock, but there are regular buyers,” said a Yangon-based seller of religious goods. — Thit Taw/ZN/ED
