Rehabilitation supplies distributed to disaster-ravaged areas

Chairman of Rakhine State Disaster Management Committee Rakhine State Chief Minister U Htin Lin, yesterday visited the multi-purpose port in Sittway to inspect the distribution of relief and rehabilitation aid. They also inspected the repair work on the strand road damaged by the storm Mocha and the ongoing expansion of the Point Beach circular road.
At multi-purpose port in Sittway, he viewed distribution of rehabilitation supplies from MV Fortune and MV Royal Venus to storm-affected areas.
Then, the chief minister inspected growing of coconut plants and mangrove forests along Shukhintha beach of Sittway and left instructions on systematic cultivation of shade trees, windbreaks and mangrove forests to be resilient of storms.
He looked into maintenance of the Shukhintha Road, expansion of the beach circular road from Point Beach to Sittway Hotel.
In the afternoon, the chief minister attended the coordinating meeting for rehabilitation measures held at the Rakhine State government office. Officials reported on progress of rehabilitation, and future plans. — MNA/KZW
