Representatives from Rosatom, Russian universities reunite alumni of Russian universities in nuclear fields

Rosatom representatives, Russia universities’ delegates, and Myanmar graduates of Russian universities gather for the first time yesterday in Yangon.

In a significant stride towards fostering collaboration in the realm of nuclear and related fields, the first get-together of Myanmar nationals who graduated from universities across the Russian Federation, accompanied by representatives from Rosatom, Russian universities, and the State Atomic Energy Corporation of the Russian Federation, was successfully convened.
The event, a result of concerted efforts between Rosatom and the Ministry of Science and Technology, took place yesterday afternoon at the Nuclear Technology Information Centre in Hlaing Township.
Graced by Union Minister Dr Myo Thein Kyaw and officials from the Ministry of Science and Technology, the event also witnessed the attendance of Ms Vera Upirova, Senior Project Manager, and delegates from Rosatom of the Russian Federation, vice-rectors from Russian universities and former students who had received their education in nuclear technology and related sciences from Russian academic institutions, and participants pursuing their studies in Russia, as well as those engaging virtually from Myanmar.
Marking the commencement of the alumni meeting were the resonating national anthems of both Myanmar and the Russian Federation. Union Minister Dr Myo Thein Kyaw delivered an opening address.
Attendees engaged in insightful discussions, sharing their educational journeys and experiences in diverse sectors, including education, nuclear technology, energy, information technology, and others. The focal point of these deliberations was the mutual enhancement of collaboration between the Russian Federation and Myanmar.
The alumni from the renowned MEPhI University spearheaded interviews and participated in the exchange of tokens that encapsulated the spirit of this momentous event.
This inaugural gathering of Myanmar’s alumni, in conjunction with Rosatom and Russian university representatives, underscores the aspiration of nurturing a strong partnership that transcends geographical boundaries and leverages collective expertise for the advancement of nuclear and related domains. — MNA/TS
