Requirement for export licences on sesame and peanut effective on 23 July

Out of 181 customs tariff lines for beans and pulses, cooking oil and edible oil crops, notification on sesame and peanut to apply for export licences will be effective on 23 July instead of 1 August, the Customs Department announced. According to the statement of the Trade Department under the Ministry of Commerce, newsletter (7/2022) of export and import, a total of 181 customs tariff lines – 53 for beans and pulses, 18 for edible crops and 110 for cooking oil are required to apply for export licences beginning on 1 August. Therefore, these HS Code 10 digit 181 lines are changed in setting as customs tariff lines that require export licences in an MACCS system and it has already been announced to apply for the licence in advance in Notification 14/2022 of the Customs Department on 5 July. According to the proposal sent on 22 July, 18 customs lines for edible oil crops including sesame and peanut are changed as customs tariff lines that require export licences in the setting of MACCS starting 23 July instead of 1 August mentioned in the newsletter (7/2022) of the Trade Department and the people can contact the Help Desk Section (01-379429) during office hours. — TWA/GNLM
