Retailers to apply for metal/gold licence from township GADs

Gold shop owners in Yangon must apply for the metal and gold licence at respective general administration departments in townships, Yangon Region Gold Entrepreneurs Association (YGEA) stated.
Gold retailers need to have two licences which are the business licence issued from the municipal development committee and the metal/gold licence from the General Administration Department.
Some owners began their application process and it aims to curb under-the-counter gold trading without licences.
There are over 10,000 gold retailers in Yangon and almost all outlets have gold licences. — TWA/MKKS
