Return to cycling culture for cutting cost and fuel consumption

Once, Mandalay city was dubbed a bicycle city. It is because all parts and streets of Mandalay city were filled with cyclists who used bicycles wherever they went.
Whenever workplaces finished working hours and schools, the schooling hours, roads and streets in Mandalay city were immediately filled with youths in colourful dresses on bicycles but traffic accidents rarely happened there.
Those cyclists used bicycles in a daily routine with patience and systematic cycling in line with the traffic rules. In a lovely scene, the people travelling by bicycle willingly invited to transport any Buddhist novice or monk seen along the streets even though they were facing important issues. It was a fine tradition of Mandalay dwellers.
Currently, the time has gone. All streets in Mandalay city are filled with small and large cars and motorcycles. They speedily drive along the streets without waiting for anyone and anything. They all are doing urgent things in the new era for livelihoods and businesses. The urban culture in Mandalay city is gradually changing. Despite changing the material property, it is sure that Mandalay city dwellers never change their souls with keenness to give a helping hand to needy persons elsewhere.
In fact, cycling is physical training for users. It brings many advantages such as healthiness in breathing breezing fresh air, fitness, cutting cost in transport, saving cost in travelling, reducing consumption of fuel and energy, mitigating traffic congestion, lessening traffic accidents, prevention of smoke and air pollution, and so on.
At present, global countries are facing fuel and energy crises. Fuel and energy prices are hiking day by day. Consequently, society is facing daily problems based on shortages of fuel, energy, and electricity, social problems and declining production. Among them, the fuel shortage is the worst, and it is a currently solvable issue.

Hence, all the people should turn to using bicycles for their daily transportation in order to cut the cost of fuel. It is sure to avoid traffic accidents and traffic congestion along its routes. Every citizen should take pride in their acts of contributing to the State so as to reduce the consumption of fuel and costs.
