Chairman of the State Administration Council Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing watched the final match of the men’s football tournament of the Inter-Education Degree Colleges for the 2023-24 academic year. He awarded prizes to the relevant teams at the awarding ceremony at Wunna Theikdi Stadium in Nay Pyi Taw yesterday.
The Senior General and party watched the final match between the Mandalay Zone A and Mandalay Zone B teams.
As it was the final match, both teams put pressure on each other from the start of the game. The Mandalay Zone B netted an opening goal in 16 minutes and a second goal in the 36th minute. In the second half, Mandalay Zone B scored its third goal in the 50th minute.
In the 59th minute, Mandalay Zone A scored its first and second goals in the 74th minute. At the final whistle, the Mandalay Zone B team clinched the title with a 3-2 win over the Mandalay Zone A.
Then, Union Minister Dr Nyunt Pe and State Administration Council Members Dr Hmu Thang, Mahn Nyein Maung, Porel Aung Thein and Daw Dwe Bu presented the best player awards to the players.
Afterwards, SAC Member U Wunna Maung Lwin presented cash awards to the fourth-prize-winning Yangon Zone B team, while the individual medals and cash awards to the third-prize-winning Yangon Zone A team by SAC Member Lt-Gen Nyo Saw and to the second-prize-winning Mandalay Zone A team by SAC Member Lt-Gen Yar Pyae.
SAC Joint Secretary Lt-Gen Ye Win Oo presented individual medals to the first prize-winning Mandalay Zone B team.
The Senior General presented cash awards and the championship trophy to the first-prize-winning Mandalay Zone B team.
After the awarding ceremony, the Senior General cordially greeted the athletes. — MNA/KTZH
