SAC member Daw Aye Nu Sein launches Sittway Walking Thingyan festival, visits pandals

State Administration Council member Daw Aye Nu Sein, accompanied by Rakhine State Chief Minister Dr Aung Kyaw Min, state ministers and departmental officials, launched the Walking Thingyan event along the Shukhintha street in Sittway Township yesterday.
They also looked around the pandals of departments and people playing water at the Viewpoint beach, Sittway Hotel beach and Maha Thingyan Central Pavilion in front of the U Ottama Park.
First, SAC member Daw Aye Nu Sein cut the ribbon to launch the walking Thingyan event at Shukhintha street with Rakhine State Chief Minister Dr Aung Kyaw Min, the Security and Border Affairs Minister, the Social Affairs Minister and the Ethnic Affairs Minister.
They visited the water-throwing pandals along with the walking Thingyan event and free food donation event.
Afterwards, they went to the Sittway Viewpoint beach, Sittway Hotel and pavilion to inspect the holding of Thingyan celebrations in Sittway.
In the evening, SAC member and the party viewed the performances of Rakhine artistes, choral dance troupes of departments and military at the Maha Thingyan Central Pandals.
The pandals in Sittway township were crowded with revellers on the Akyat day of the Thingyan festival. — Tin Tun (IPRD)/GNLM
