SAC members enjoy SAC Chairman’s Trophy U-18 women’s football tournament

In collaboration with the Department of Sports and Physical Education of the Ministry of Sports and Youth Affairs and the Myanmar Football Federation, the SAC Chairman’s Trophy U-18 women’s football tournament qualifiers were held at 3 pm yesterday at training turf No 1 and turf No 3 in Nay Pyi Taw Wunna Theikdi Stadium with the aim to raise the standard of Myanmar football and to produce many talented new-generation football athletes (females) from the states and regions.
SAC members Jeng Phang Naw Taung, Dr Banyar Aung Moe and wife, Deputy Minister for Planning and Finance U Maung Maung Win, Deputy Minister for Sports and Youth Affairs U Myo Hlaing, Director-General of the Sports and Physical Education Department U Tun Myint Oo, the deputy directors-general, directors, officials from the Myanmar Football Federation and football fans attended and enjoyed the tourney.
In the knockout match of the U-18 Women’s football tourney held at the training turf No 1 of Wunna Theikdi Stadium, the Sagaing Region team beat the Mandalay Region team 2-1 while the Yangon Region team defeated the Mon State team 4-2 at the training turf No.3.
The competition will pause for one day on 11 December. In the U-18 Women’s Football Quarterfinals to be held starting from 3 pm on 12 December, the Ayeyawady Region team will take on the Sagaing Region team at training turf No 1 of the Wunna Theikdi Stadium, while the Shan State team will face the Magway Region team at training turf No 3. Anyone interested in sports can come and enjoy the matches for free, it is reported. — MNA/KZL
