Independence can lose in a short time for various reasons but it needs to take several years for regaining independence. Hence, the entire national people should join hands in unison to continue safeguarding the independence and sovereignty of the nation for its perpetual existence.
Although the entire people struggled for independence with the sacrifice of life and blood, the independence gave patriotic spirit, national spirit and unity as a noble gift to all. It is a distant example in the independence struggle of the country that when all ethnic national brethren are in unity, they all will have to secure victory.
Not to lose the space of Myanmar on the world map, all Myanmar citizens are responsible for safeguarding the independence and sovereignty as well as defending the State and the people as a national inborn duty. Hence, the entire people should strive for Myanmar to be able to proudly stand tall with the patriotic spirit and the national spirit among the global countries for thousands of years in its perpetuity.
These duties are not enough for the country. Every citizen needs to cooperate with the government in successfully implementing the two political aims of strengthening the genuine, disciplined multiparty democratic system and building a Union based on a democratic system and federalism.
In so doing, every citizen needs to avoid all inappropriate acts which can cause derailment of the country from en route to a democratic goal while striving for ensuring the prevalence of law and order under the existing laws able to initiate a firm and stable democratic system of in accord with the concept “No one is above the law”.
Currently, many global countries are exercising various types of democratic systems and federalism. In building a democratic nation, it is necessary to choose the best way in conformity with Myanmar in order to implement the democratic system and federalism the entire ethnic national people aspire to. In this regard, the people exercising the democratic system need to follow the wish of the majority but emphasize the wish of the minority, without identifying the persons as enemies if they are not in conformity with the concept of the majority.
That is why all citizens need to focus on the interests of the State and national people under the theme “Keep Moving Forward to Achieve Our Goal” in order to build a better socioeconomic country with a firm pledge to restore national reconciliation and the peace of the Union.
