Sagaing Region Chief Minister inspects development projects in Myinmu

Sagaing Region Chief Minister U Myat Kyaw inspects cow breeding farm in Htisaung village of Myinmu Township.

Sagaing Region Chief Minister U Myat Kyaw, accompanied by the region government officials, made an inspection tour to development projects in Sagaing Region on 21 August.
During the inspection tour, the Chief Minister and party inspected the Pyawt Ywa Hydropower Project in Myinmu Township, which supplies irrigation water to 2,000 acres of monsoon paddy and 1,000 acres of summer paddy.
The Chief Minister and party also viewed round broadcasting of fertilizers in the model plot in Pyawt Village, and proceeded to the local breeding and animal feed development research farm in Htihsaung Village, Myinmu Township. In the farm, a total of 159 cows are being raised and animal feed making trainings are being conducted.
During the visit to a model Shwetaung-8 cotton plantation in North Myoma ward in Myinmu, the Chief Minister coordinated with departmental officials to grow 59,746 acres of cotton before the cotton plantation season in 2020-2021.
Afterwards, the Chief Minister and party attended the donation ceremonies of oxygen cylinders, concentrators, COVID-19 preventive equipment and foodstuffs in Myinmu and Myaung. Chief Minister U Myat Kyaw addressed the meeting and township departmental officials reported on the regional development activities and current implementation works.
The donations, COVID-19 preventive equipment, foodstuffs and cash assistance were handed over to the officials from the township COVID-19 control and emergency response committees.—Region IPRD/GNLM
