SEA Games Football: Myanmar snatch late winner over Timor-Leste

Myanmar snatched a late 3-2 win over Timor-Leste when Defender Aung Wunna Soe scored in injury time in their Group A tie of the SEA Games men’s football event that was played at the Viet Tri Stadium.
Myanmar head Popov used his favorite players including Maung Maung Lwin, Win Naing Tun, Myat Kaung Khant, and Lwin Moe Aung.
Timor-Leste, who lost to the Philippines in the opening match, responded well to Myanmar team with brilliant tactics.
Myanmar team dominated the match in the first half and created many goals and scored two leading goals. The leading goals for Myanmar were scored by Win Naing Tun in the 37th minute and Htet Phyo Wai in the 41st minute.
In the second half, the Myanmar team made up to five substitutions and changed the pitch. However, Timor attack back and Myanmar struggled until the last minute to win by three points. Defender Aung Wunna Soe scored the valuable goal for Myanmar in the 90 + 5 minutes of the match. Myanmar U-23 will play against the Philippines on 10 May in the second match of the group. The Philippines beat Timor-Leste 4-0 in the opening match.—GNLM
